Simon Williams - Managing Director

Simon originally started Prime Sports in December 2018 after initially starting his teacher training at Edgehill University, part-time, whilst a teaching assistant at a local primary school in the Ribble Valley (This was previously called Ribble Valley Sports Coaching).

He has over 12 years experience of coaching in schools; with level 2 qualifications in, striking and fielding (cricket), fundamentals (multi-sports) & invasion games (football).

Simons’ CV also consists of time at Accrington Stanley FC where he coached in the academy in the foundation phase & completed his UEFA B License in coaching football. He is currently the u14’s district team football coach for Hyndburn and Ribble Valley as well as Lead Scout at Preston North End.

Sameer Gurjee - Sports Coach

“My name is Sameer and I’m a dedicated sports coach with a passion for developing young talent. He has gained valuable experience working at a private academy, where he honed his coaching skills and built a strong rapport with his students.

He has completed a Level 3 Diploma in Sports at Newman College, equipping him with a solid theoretical foundation in coaching techniques and sports science.

Outside of coaching, Sameer enjoys playing football himself, participating in games on Sundays. His support for Liverpool reflects his deep-rooted love for the sport and the local community. Through his coaching, Sameer aims to inspire a new generation of footballers while sharing his enthusiasm for the game.

Jess Griffiths - Sports Coach

My name is Jess and I am a sports coach helping children to gain a passion for sports activities. I hope to gain experience for working and continue along the sporting pathway to college.

I am a qualified Into officiating netball umpire which I hope to progress to my C award. As well as umpiring Im also a netball player myself. I play for Ribble Valley u15 academy. I participate in many matches throughout the week which helps me develop as a player myself.

My love for sports drives me to inspire others and their passion for sports.

Ben Scott - Sports Coach

“My name is Ben, I am currently at Myerscough University Centre studying a degree in Cricket Coaching and Performance.

After this, I hope to progress further in my education by completing my Certificate in Education in order to teach Btec/A-level sport at colleges. I am a qualified Foundation ECB Coach; with this I am Head coach at Hesketh Bank Cricket Club and I have also worked for the Lancashire Cricket Foundation as part of the coaching side.

In my spare time, I like to watch and coach cricket. I also like to go on walks/hikes.”

 

Kieran Hopkins - Sports Coach

“My name is Kieran, I’m currently studying sports coaching at UCLan University.

I’m a UEFA qualified football coach and currently coach in the Prime Sports Football Academy, as well as Penwortham St Teresa’s U’18s. I’m probably the only Tottenham fan in Blackburn and Preston but don’t worry I won’t hold it against you that your team aren’t as good as mine. I’ve played football all my life and can’t wait to pass on my love of the game to the next generation”
